Hello, I've only just picked up on the 2013 Highland Scoot event, reproducing the route of the 1960 Highland Scoot. I (and my wife, now of 53 years) were overall winners in 1960 and still have the "Scooter and Three Wheeler" replica on our trophy shelf, although it is now overwhelmed by the many sailing trophies I have won since then. We have happy memories of the 1960 event, which we won (I hate to mention it) on a British Triumph Tigress; a replica of that machine still rests in my garage, its windscreen embelished with the Competitor badge from 1960 - I have a few copies given to me by GVC at the prize-giving in Glasgow. Now, why not run a proper Highland Scoot, a road trial with time controls and special sections - that really would be something!
