I've just this moment decided to sell my restored Vespa 150 Sprint Veloce to make way for another project. This bike is an Italian import dated from 1973. I got the bike part restored and unregistered in June 2010 and since then I have finished off the paintwork, replaced all the chrome/ brightwork, regsistered it with DVLA and finished off the engine work. It has had all new cables fitted, new sito plus exhaust, new levers, mirror, floor runners, lights, badges, legshield trim, original seat, autolube fuel tank, tyres, refurbished hubs and brakes, wiring loom, steering lock, all rubber trim and grips + more.
I've done a lot of the work myself but have spent a couple of hundred pounds at Vivo Scooters getting work done also and have receipts for this work. I have got receipts and paperwork for a lot of the parts and have kept a full record of the work that has been done.
I have the dating certificate from the Veteran Vespa Club to prove the age along with the number plate authorisation from DVLA. Although this just misses out on being tax exempt, it only cost £16 a year to tax it. It comes fitted with a sweet looking black age related plate.
It's been independently valued and insured at £2500 for replacement purposes.
It's been painted in old english white and although the bodywork's not immaculate, it's a good honest scooter and runs very well.
The body is a Vespa Sprint Veloce and it originally had a 150cc engine but when it was restored a new PX125 engine was fitted so it's much more reliable. Thie engine has only done maybe 1500 miles and is solid. The bike is registered as a 150 but it would be easy to re-register as a 125 for licence purposes. The mileage showing on the original speedo is 35000 km which relates to 22000 miles.
I bought the bike for £1300 but have spent over £1000 sorting this out and restoring it. Selling for £2000. Comes with a full years MOT and Road Tax.
If you have any questions or would like to come and view the bike then let me know and I'll get back to you and we can sort something out.
Thanks very much,
Martin
